The soaring gas prices continued to push EUAs to fresh records

The power spot prices edged down yesterday in north western Europe, torn between forecasts of stronger wind output but weaker solar generation and slightly lower temperatures. Prices reached 62.50€/MWh on average in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The EUA prices continued to climb to new highs on Wednesday, driven by the surging gas prices, slight gains in the financial markets and perhaps some additional support from nearly exhausted very last-minute compliance buying ahead of the deadline coming on Friday.

The power curve prices were mixed yesterday, torn between bearish weather forecasts, higher gas and carbon prices, and some technical pressure.
